Something Happens When God's People Pray

Hebrews 4:16
16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Jeremiah 33:3
3 ‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.

1 John 5:14-15
14 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.

There Were Attacks
- King Herod & the Jews

There Were Fear & Uncertainty
- The church did not know what the future held.

There Was An Adversary
- Satan, the one who organized and empowered this persecution.

Earnest Prayer
- earnest = sincere or intense conviction
- “prayer was made without ceasing...” NKJV
- ceasing = to stretch forth
- going beyond the boundaries
Faithful Prayer
- prayers were made “to God”
- 6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. (Heb. 11:6)
- faith/ obligation/ command

- prayers were “made…for him”
