There Were Attacks - King Herod & the Jews
There Were Fear & Uncertainty - The church did not know what the future held.
There Was An Adversary - Satan, the one who organized and empowered this persecution.

2. It Was a Time of Prayer
Earnest Prayer - earnest = sincere or intense conviction - “prayer was made without ceasing...” NKJV - ceasing = to stretch forth - going beyond the boundaries Faithful Prayer - prayers were made “to God” - 6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. (Heb. 11:6) - faith/ obligation/ command Focused Prayer - prayers were “made…for him” Family Prayer
