Built for a Purpose
Burt Ong

You were created for a purpose.
God created you for a purpose on purpose.
You are not a mistake or an accident; neither some-kind of freak of nature.

Purpose is define as:
a. That which a person sets before himself as an object to be reached or accomplished; the end or aim to which the view is directed in any plan, measure or exertion.
b. We believe the Supreme Being created intelligent beings for some benevolent and glorious purpose, and if so how glorious and benevolent must be His purpose in the plan of redemption!

Many people go through life having no idea why they are here or what God has purposed for them and their life.
They live out their lives in at least 1 of the following 3
i) SURVIVAL
ii) SUCCESS
iii) SIGNIFICANCE

1) Built for a Purpose
Genesis 3:8-9
v8: God walked with Adam and Eve in the Garden. It means closeness, intimacy, communion. They hid from God when they sinned.
v9: Who came looking for who? God made an atonement for them.

Genesis 3:21
God’s desire to be with us is consistent throughout

John 1:1,14
The Greek word there for "dwelt" is skanae. It means to tabernacle.
Again, God is seeking His people, but this time, instead of dwelling in a temple, he was then walking among the people.

Colossians 1:16
You are Created for a Purpose.
You are Created with a Purpose.
You are Created for God’s Purpose.
You need to live for Purpose.
You should live on Purpose.

2) Fulfilling God’s Purpose
In order to go to the next steps we must first make Jesus Lord in our lives.
Truly our purpose is to fulfill the will of God upon our lives
We are not going to go very far if we don’t know the Word of God and follow it.
Every believer also has a specific will God has called him or her to fulfill.

Life without God is less meaningful. Life with God is full and free. Serving God brings true significances unto your life. Living for God comes with a satisfaction guarantee. Purpose directs us, leads us, guides us to the destination God has for each of us.

Ephesians 4:11-13
We will be held accountable for our time here. We have to do something while we are on our way to something else. We are not just occupying time and space.

Matthew 25:14-31
Each of these received talents according to their own ability. No one was given an unfair burden and asked to do more than they were capable of doing. We only have to accomplish what God has placed in our hand to accomplish.

There are benefits to living a Purposed life.
-Reduced Frustration
-Allowing for more Focused Concentration
-Increased Motivation.
Don’t waste your life, invest it.

Luke 19:10
