For even if you had ten thousand others to teach you about Christ, you have only one spiritual father. For I became your father in Christ Jesus when I preached the Good News to you. So I urge you to imitate me.That’s why I have sent Timothy, my beloved and faithful child in the Lord. He will remind you of how I follow Christ Jesus, just as I teach in all the churches wherever I go. 2 Corintians 5:20 (NLT) So we are Christ's ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, "Come back to God!" 1. Honorable (to hold on to God’s Standard) - An honorable person is one who holds him/herself to the highest standards or morals, ethics and behavior. He/She would stands up for what is right, no matter what the cost. Daniel 1:8 But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine, and he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself this way. Daniel 6:10 Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before.” - God will NOT always deliver us from trouble, he will always deliver us WHEN we are in trouble 2. Emotional Intelligent (to have self-control) - Emotion is “a mental condition of feeling, excitement or passion.” It involves the stirring of our sensibilities and can involve physiological changes such as laughter, tears or nervousness. Although someone in an emotional state may engage in behavior that at first glance appears irrational, emotion is usually a product of thought and can be logically understood. People who have self-control are strong individuals because:- - The hardest person to say “NO” to is yourself - Self-control also means doing what must be done - The role of the coach is to make men do things they don’t want to do to achieve the results they want to achieve 1 Corintians 9:27 I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should - Our mindset determines our actions and our feelings - Are we blaming on others because “we CAN’T do it” OR - We own it because we have the conviction and tell ourselves “we DON’T do it”? 3. Readiness (to do what is right) - It take COURAGE to do what is right. But courage isn't just doing what you're afraid to do; it's doing what you're afraid to do because of your commitment to something greater than your fears. What distinguishes courage from recklessness is the conviction that underlies it. Courage is doing the right thing in the face of real consequences -- it's risking something we value for the sake of something we hold even more dearly. John 11:7-16 and then he said to his disciples, “Let us go back to Judea.” “But Rabbi,” they said, “a short while ago the Jews there tried to stone you, and yet you are going back?” Jesus answered, “Are there not twelve hours of daylight? Anyone who walks in the daytime will not stumble, for they see by this world’s light.It is when a person walks at night that they stumble, for they have no light.” After he had said this, he went on to tell them, “Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep; but I am going there to wake him up.”His disciples replied, “Lord, if he sleeps, he will get better.” Jesus had been speaking of his death, but his disciples thought he meant natural sleep. So then he told them plainly, “Lazarus is dead, and for your sake I am glad I was not there, so that you may believe. But let us go to him.” Then Thomas (also known as Didymus) said to the rest of the disciples, “Let us also go, that we may die with him.” - His conviction and commitment to us override the fear of consequence. Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. - Courage is doing the right thing in the face of real consequences 4. Obedient (to the word of God) - Obedience is defined as “dutiful or submissive compliance to the commands of one in authority.” - “Dutiful” means it is our obligation to obey God, just as Jesus fulfilled His duty to the Father by dying on the cross for our sin. - “Submissive” indicates that we yield our wills to God’s. “Commands” speaks of the Scriptures in which God has clearly delineated His instructions. The “one in authority” is God Himself, whose authority is total and leaving no doubt. Ephesians 6:10-18 “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword 2 Timothy 4:2 Preach the word of God. Be persistent, whether the time is favorable or not. My Dad My Hero

1 Corintians 4:14-17 (NLT)

2 Corintians 5:20 (NLT)

1. Honorable

2. Emotional Intelligent

4. Obedient
(to the word of God)

Ephesians 6:10-18
