Luke 16:1-9
An interesting parable of the dishonest manager.

Compare to the parable before, the prodigal son.
Both stories are almost identical in their situation. (Luke 16:1)
Both faced with the question of how they will meet their basic needs. (Luke 15:14-16, Luke 16:3-4)
Both men have exactly the same problem unsure about their ability to provide for themselves the basic necessities of life.
Both men come up with similar solution to their crisis.
Both men look for a place where they will be taken in.
Both men look for a place that will welcome them.
In summary, both came to realize the importance of having a place of shelter, a place where he would be welcome, a place to call home.
Jesus concludes the story by saying, “I tell you, make friends for yourselves by means of dishonest wealth so that when it is gone, they may welcome you into the eternal homes.”

1. Eternal Home
If this home is so important, how would we approach it?
How marvellous is this home. It is lasting, existing forever and without end
Have you ever imagine how this home looks like?

Revelation 21:18-21
Don’t you look forward to go to this home? “What a day that will be…”

John 14:1-2
A house remain only a house if there is no occupant.
To be the occupant there we need to inherit eternal life

2. Eternal Life
How is it going to be like?

How can we get there?
What can stop us?
-Fail to have awareness and admit that we are all guilty. The dishonest manager and the prodigal son is not someone else but is each one of us. None of us is innocent and yet we are welcomed. Pharisees says, He welcomed “sinners” and ate with them. The elder son in the story of the “Prodigal Son” reminds us that the only way to stay out of the kingdom is to exclude ourselves by claiming to be righteous.
-Lies from Satan

-Challenges and Difficulties
-Perseverance and Hard work

Matthew 7:24-27
